BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Matt has served as Executive Director of Hospitality Common from the start of our programming in the summer of 2021, and in this position has provided oversight and leadership for all organizational initiatives and operations. Previous to his work for Hospitality Common, Matt held the position of Director of Christian Education for the Presbyterian Church in Sudbury, and prior to that, pastored two Lutheran churches in the early 2000's--Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Groton, MA, and Resurrection Lutheran Church in Roxbury, MA.

Christine is a founding member of Hospitality Common's Board of Directors and served as the first Chairperson of our Board during the critical early stages of Hospitality Common's formation and development where she provided skilled guidance for our leadership group as our organization was getting its footing as a faith-based non-profit. Christine also spent many years prior working in the corporate sector as national Principal Consultant providing business development, strategy and client relationships for PwC and Deloitte in San Francisco, CA.

Crystal joined Hospitality Common's Board of Directors in 2019 and brought with her an extensive background in education, administration and corporate development. Crystal currently serves as Chair of Hospitality Common's Board of Directors and has provided key leadership in this next phase of our organization's growth and maturation. She currently works for The Salvation Army in Corporate and Foundation Relations and served previously as Director of Administration at Cross Factor Academy, a private Christian School in Boston, MA.

Gary is both a founding Board member of Hospitality Common as well as a participant in a three way conversation back in the summer of 2017 that sparked the idea that would become Hospitality Common, Inc. Gary has given his adult life to the cause of caring for refugees, including spending seven years in Afghanistan helping returning Afghans rebuild their communities after fleeing earlier persecution. Gary will serve as the live-in host for Hospitality Common's transitional home for refugees. Beyond his work for Hospitality Common, Gary also founded and serves as current Director for Kataluma Refugee Hospitality in Boston, MA.

Jessie has served as Food Services Administrator for Hospitality Common from the beginning of our programming in the summer of 2021. In this role she and her team have prepared and distributed more than 4000 meals to our adult ESL students and their families as part of our Meal Program. At the conclusion of our Monday evening English classes, students would pick up a stack of nutritious, freshly made dinners to bring back to their families. In addition to her work with Hospitality Common, Jessie also holds certifications with the State of Massachusetts as a Domestic Violence Counselor and Personal Care Assistant.
